The Macrobiotic Association of Great Britain was established in 1996 to create a forum for the UK community to meet other members and to discover the macrobiotic resources available in Great Britain, including macrobiotic consultations, courses, classes, events and books.
The Association was started by a group of people who have been at the core of Macrobiotics in this country for over 30 years, including London's Community Health Foundation, Kushi Institute and East West Centre.
One aim of the Association is to help set professional standards for all those providing macrobiotic services. Through our membership we will represent macrobiotics and also co-operate with similar organisations in other countries.
The Macrobiotic Association respects all forms of macrobiotics and the views of all its members. This site is run by the practitioner members and members for the benefit of everyone.
One of the benefits of using this site is that you will access most of the UK's leading macrobiotic practitioners and hear a range of views. Although we do have different ways of expressing macrobiotics we all work together as a community and enjoy debating the differences.
Committee members are voted in and the current chairperson is Maria Serrano.

It is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers.
We have an archive of newsletters that may be viewed by members in the members section. These were used to communicate information about macrobiotics and events as well as topical news and features and seasonal recipes and tips. They also served to keep members up to date with what is going on in the Association. These functions are currently being addressed by the website.
