Biography:
Daphne Watson SMMA MRSS(T) CAc (Beijing) Macrobiotic Consultant & Teacher
Daphne lived in the Far East as a child and was strongly influenced by Oriental medicine and philosophy. As a teenager she realised that 'somehow we create our own sickness' and therefore, that we have the power to heal ourselves, if only we knew how.
In the early 70's she began studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine which led ]directly to the Kushi institute of Macrobiotic Studies.
Listening to her first lecture by Michio Kushi she realised that working with Macrobiotics was what she wanted to do with her life.
By the late 70's and early 80's, whilst bringing up her family macrobiotically, Daphne studied foundation to advanced levels at the Kushi Institute and apprenticed herself to Michio Kushi and other leading international teachers in their fields. She began macrobiotic lecturing, consulting and teaching internationally in the early 80's, and became an active member and teacher of the Kushi Institute.
Daphne continues to work primarily as an International Macrobiotic Consultant, Lecturer and Teacher, offering Wellness Coaching, Guided Imagery and Stress Management. She has specialised in supporting those who are suffering from degenerative diseases, and those who wish to maintain Life Balance whilst pursuing their dreams.
She continues her interest in the significance of the Mind-Body relationship, and the importance of the subconscious mind in the healing process, through studies in Health Psychology and the significance of the subconscious mind in the healing process.
She has written numerous macrobiotic articles for major magazines, given many macrobiotic talks and seminars, has been featured on a macrobiotic video, and on a Radio 4 and Discovery Health TV series.
