Buckwheat burgers

Buckwheat burgers


ingredients

  • 1.5 cups of cooked buckwheat
  • 1-2 grated carrot
  • 1 diced red onion
  • 1 -2 tablespoons of shoyu
  • parsley
  • Oat flakes to bind
  • 1-2 tablespoons of tahini (optional - if you wanted to make it richer)
  • 2 tablespoons of roasted sunflower seeds (optional)
  • Sesame oil for frying
  • Wholemeal flour

instructions

  1. Mix the buckwheat, carrot, onion, shoyu and parsley together. Add roasted seeds and tahini if desired. Give it a taste to see if you need more seasoning.Pick up some of the mixture with your hand and squeeze it together, if it holds together you can form into balls and then flatten into burgers. If it doesn't hold together, sprinkle in some fine oat flakes and mix well before shaping.
  2. Next, heat sesame oil in a frying pan (enough to coat the bottom of the pan). Dip the burgers into the flour before frying gently until golden brown.
