Brussel sprouts are packed full of essential vitamins and minerals and are a must at this time of year.
ingredients
- About 20 brussel sprouts (cut into quarters and par boiled)
- 1 red chilli (diced, with seeds removed)
- 2 medium onions (thinly sliced)
- 1 cup of pre cooked chestnuts (cut into quarters)
- sesame oil (for frying)
- 1 clove of garlic (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- herb salt
instructions
- Add enough sesame oil to lightly cover wok or sauce pan & allow oil to heat for a minute or so.
- Add the thinly sliced onions and stir fry for a couple of minutes until they soften.
- Next add in the chilli & garlic and stir fry for a couple more minutes.
- Then add in the brussel sprouts and chestnuts. Add enough herb salt to taste (being careful to add this a bit at a time so you don't over do the salt). Sprinkle in the cinnamon and cook for a further 5 minutes before serving.
